So here are my (Hilary) favorite things right now!
1. Dolman tops! I've been struggling to find comfortable/flattering/appropriate work clothing for the summer. I realized that my normal go-to outfit of a tank top and cardigan (which worked when I worked in a chilly hospital) is not going to work at my current job, where I'm in and out of my building, hot cars and homes. So I've been trying to find something that I can buy (or make) and I came across this great tutorial from Make It & Love It:
I love the simplicity of the shirt and will probably cut the sleeves a bit shorter for summer to keep it light and airy.
My only issue is that it can be difficult to find good quality jersey with modern patterns locally. However, that's where number 2 comes in.
2. Girl Charlee Fabrics. This is an awesome website. They carry adorable and affordable jersey and knits in super cute prints. I'm totally drooling over these colors right now:
So bright and fresh for summer! I can't wait to order some of these beautiful fabrics and make some of those dolman tops (and maxi skirts, and tank tops and kids' clothes...).
Check out their blog and Facebook page and don't hesitate to say Domestic Bliss Squared sent you! :)
3. The Sookie Stackhouse books. So these aren't exactly a craft, but I love seeing what other people are reading and if the books are any good! I've been plowing through the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris and loving it. These are the books that the show True Blood is based on, but after watching a few episodes of the show, I love the books far better. They are cute and funny and Sookie is a totally lovable character. They are a little racy at times (definitely not kid-appropriate) but a quick read for a beautiful summer afternoon!
