Fall Festival: DIY Fall-Themed Homemade Card

Hi everyone! We've got another amazing guest post today!

fall-card-14

Hi, I am Jess from Styled by Jess. One of my favorite parts of the fall season is the colorful leaves - I love all of the reds, yellows, oranges, and olive greens. I thought it would be great to make a beautiful handmade card for fall using all of these colors. Thanks for having me, Hilary and Jessica to share this idea with your readers!

  fall-card-1

You will need: leaf stamp (this one is from Paper Source), ink pads or stamp markers in fall colors, a blank card, scissors, paper (one sheet the same color as your card, a second sheet in a fall color), mounting tape (it adds a slight 3D effect), and double sided tape (not pictured).

The first stamp of your leaf should be just slightly off-centered in the card, you'll then stamp all around this first stamp.

Keep stamping, filling up the blank space in the card. Don't forget your edges! I think it looks great to have some of your leaves "escaping" the page. Just slide a piece of scrap paper under the card and stamp right off the card.

Once your card is full of beautiful fall leaves, take the sheet of paper the same color of the card and stamp one more leaf and either write or stamp a greeting.

Carefully cut around your image, then tape that to a colorful piece of paper and cut out the shape again, leaving a small margin of the colored paper.

Use your mounting tape to attach to the card...

..and you have a beautiful fall-themed card! Don't forget the envelope and stamp another leaf on one of the corners. Someone will LOVE receiving this card from you. Happy fall!

Gorgeous!  We love the matching envelope detail as well!  Thanks Jess and don't forget to check out her awesome site!  ~ Hilary & Jessica
