Outfit: black Ann Taylor dress and booties

I (Jessica) am so excited to show you guys this outfit! I threw this on for church the other day when Hilary and I were going to take blog pictures (you can see it in our blogiversary post). Once I put it on I loved it so much that I decided to make this outfit it's own post!

I chose this black and white abstract printed dress, and paired it with a basic white cardigan, black booties and a yellow triangle necklace.

Black and white are really "in" for fall, and this dress is perfectly on trend. And it's a wrap dress, so it's possibly the most flattering dress ever.

The white cardigan is thrifted, J. Crew ($4) and it was a great basic I picked up this summer.

The dress is a thrifted Ann Taylor LOFT dress from Goodwill ($5...it was 50% of the $10 price tag). The skirt hits me at exactly the right length on my legs, which is weird because I have stumpy short legs and most skirts never fit perfectly without hemming.

The yellow triangle necklace is from Joann's from the Blue Moon jewelry line. I got it 75% off for $2.50! I love the pop of color against the rest of the monochromatic pieces I chose.

The black cut out booties are Steven by Steve Madden ($10) thrifted of course! These are super trendy right now. I was skeptical, because booties can really cut off your leg line, but these are super flattering. I'm in love!

A whole super cute outfit of designer pieces for a total of $22.50! I am in love and will be wearing this exact outfit again soon, because I'm a creature of habit at heart, and if it's not broke I'm not going to fix it!

  1. OH! Someone is looking really pretty and cute. I am spell bounded with the Boots and the entire look. The triangle shaped necklace is such a hands on. I had a necklace with circles like this a long time ago. But dropped it somewhere and I miss it so much now :( Ugh!
    Anyhoo, u look wonderful ;)

  2. The necklace is really great! I'm going to have to keep an eye out on that line for more awesome sales. Anything yellow wins my heart!

    1. Thanks Stacia! I've shied away from yellow in the past because if I wear it on clothing it tends to make me look...sickly. But accessories are the perfect way to add some of those difficult colors!

  3. Yes! Great look Jess!! I have a really tough time with fall dresses. My stumpy legs have poor circulation, so I'm ALWAYS cold. Leggings don't cut it, so I usually end up in jeans and boots with cute accessories. But it's only November and I'm already bored with my wardrobe. I can only own so many boots, bags, and scarves. I'm living vicariously through you, so keep the fashion posts coming!

    1. Thanks Amy! I hear you about being cold. I've been living in leggings with boot socks over the top, and that helps. But here in Idaho it's still warm enough to walk around in a single layer during the day! I have to say I'm absolutely loving the milder winter this far, it makes for easier fashion posts for sure. Maybe I'll do a post on boots and scarves soon, just for you ;-)
