Hi! Welcome to Domestic Bliss Squared! We're Jessica and Hilary.

We've known each other for over ten years, but it wasn't until the birth of our daughters (9 weeks apart!), that we started talking every day.

Gradually our discussions moved from parenting issues to other passions we have and we discovered we both love DIY, sewing, Little House on the Prairie, cooking healthy foods, exercise and coffee!  We both learned how to crochet at the same time, we've fallen in love with jewelry making together and we swap recipes constantly!

Hi! I'm Jessica. I'm a preschool teacher and mom to my two children, a sassy six year old girl (Jill), and a hellion little boy (Ender).

I'm the one you'll usually see doing the posting here, style and sewing posts especially, with some cooking, jewelry making, crochet and general crafting thrown in for good measure. I'm sort of a "jack of all trades" crafter/diy-er.

I'm also the main social media person here at Domestic Bliss Squared! I post across all our social media, comment on other blogs, Tweet and Pin and return emails. Basically this translates into spending way too much time on Facebook while drinking coffee and calling it "work."

Some of my favorite things:
Food: Sushi. Color: green. TV show: Star Trek. Doctor Who and Star Trek come in close seconds. Drink: Coffee. Guilty pleasure: fashion magazines. Can't live without my: coffee!

Hi! I'm Hilary! I'm the home decor and home improvement guru here. I love love love home projects! (My husband and I actually built an addition to our house, ourselves!) I also cook, sew, crochet...and I'm in charge of all things tech and budget related for Domestic Bliss Squared. Like our cute layout? That was me!

I have a master's degree in Social Work, and I'm a proud working mom of two beautiful kids.

Some of my favorites:
Food: sushi. Color: Anything bright! And preferably worn together. TV show: Sex in the City. (Non crafting) Hobby: Running. Drink: Coffee.  Guilty pleasure: Smartphone games. Can't live without my: budget planning math journal.

This blog has become a place where we share what we've learned (the good, the bad and the really ugly) along with tons of tutorials, recipes and pictures. We love homemaking and saving money and are always striving towards Domestic Bliss (cheaply, of course!).

Check out our tabs or follow us on Facebook, Google +, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest!

Questions?  Comments?  Concerns?  Or do you just have an awesome recipe or tutorial you want to share with us?  Contact us at domesticblisssquared @ gmail.com (take out the space...)!

We'd love to hear from you!

  8. Are you on Ravelry? I use that a lot for my projects so I'd love it if you were so I could add your patterns easily to my queue and then as a project when I make one :). Thanks, Rosie aka Bedcrafter :)
